Junior LTS

Learn to Swim Intensive Program

(Nominal Age Range 3 years – 8 years)

The Intensive Program parallels the Learn to Swim Program but is designed for more personal attention with fewer pupils in the class, for faster learning. This is a common stage for any swimmer to require a period of intensive tuition in order to master a complex skill and then move into the standard Learn to Swim Program.

Learn to Swim Program

(Nominal Age Range 3 years – 8 years)

We offer children’s learn to swim (LTS) classes on a daily basis. Children are typically able to start LTS lessons at 36 to 42 months but all children must do an assessment before booking, to be sure they are ready for these classes. Outcomes of our Learn to Swim Program include: mastering the basic skills of the four major strokes and water safety. We have a number of grades of LTS and with each grade we teach skills to allow progression to the next grade. Class sizes start at 3 children with an instructor and increase as the children gain skills. Children learn by direct instruction and correction and by watching class mates swimming and being instructed and corrected. We will constantly grade and monitor the progress of your child in our LTS Program. If you would like to discuss your child’s progress please don’t hesitate to approach one of our friendly Supervisors.

The progression and objectives for Preschool & School Age LTS Program are:

Beginner: Learning to submerge face with eyes open & exhaling.
Aqua 1: Able to glide kick & back float.
Aqua 3: Learning to use arms in freestyle & backstroke.
Aqua 5: Learning correct head position & breathing.
Aqua 7:   Able to swim in deep water learning all four strokes & dive.
