Friday Night Races

Races are open to anyone

Friday Night Races are a fun introduction to racing and give the children a reason for doing swimming lessons.

Races are open to anyone currently registered with Terrey Hills Swim School aged 12 and under and from Aqua 6 and above.

Whilst the children will be swimming in a heat with children who swim similar times over 50m freestyle, they are really only swimming against themselves as the aim of each race is to better their own PB (Personal Best time).

Who touches the wall first at the end of each race is actually irrelevant!

Children are awarded 1 point for each Friday they turn up to swim plus 1 point for each PB they set on the night.

They will swim all 4 strokes on the night so a total of 5 points are up for grabs each week!

Their points are recorded on a Challenge Ladder and we present a prize to the overall winner on the last night of races for the term.

Once all the races and fun relays are completed each week, we give each child a free raffle ticket so everyone has the opportunity to win one of the 4 or 5 small prizes we put up each week – whilst eating pizza that we provide!
